Kurt Chambless MD

Kurt Chambless MDBorn, raised and educated in the Southeast, Dr. Chambless holds Bachelor’s and M.D. degrees from Emory University and the Medical College of Georgia where he did his orthopaedic surgery residency. He obtained specialized training in Sports Medicine and ACL surgery in Jackson Hole, Wyoming under the tutelage of world-famed surgeon Dr. John Feagin, Jr., known as the “Father of ACL Surgery.”

Coming to Chattanooga he became one of the founders of The Center for Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics. With more than 20 years experience treating patients and athletes in the Chattanooga and North Georgia region, Dr. Chambless is well-known and highly-respected by coaches and trainers in the area’s high schools and colleges as well as the Chattanooga Lookouts. He served the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Ukrainian Gymnastics Team, and lived and worked in the Olympic Village during the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City.

Although a contributing author to medical literature and instructor in his craft, Dr. Chambless’ first priority is his patients. He is a firm believer that his medical skills are a gift from God and that while he employs those skills, God does the healing. Married 28 years to Jill, he is the father of two adult children, Josh and Karla. He enjoys boating, fishing and diving in his free time.
