MoM Total Hip Info
On February 10, 2011, the FDA released information regarding Total Hip Replacements with the Metal-on-Metal (MoM) bearing surface. Typically used in active, young patients requiring a hip replacement, there is no cause for alarm but only information about ongoing investigations. There is no apparent evidence of any significant early failure of these devices, but rather information regarding their choice, use, and safety.
If further information becomes available, we will make it available to you here.
